Our Mission
The bold, audacious goal is to Transform the pyramid in developing Asia and Africa a Billion Lives at the base of through climate action. To adopt a partnership-based approach and implement the projects by partnering with local grassroots community organizations, thereby improving livelihoods.The Need
1) The urgent need for climate action, particularly to improve the resilience of the bottom of the pyramid; 2) Over 2 billion people don't have access to safe drinking water, a fundamental human right; 3) The urgent need to restore nature and soil; and 4) Women at the forefront of many challengesThe Solution
1) All projects lead to carbon removal, reduction, or avoidance; 2) Install rainwater harvesting and/or water purification infrastructure in households and schools; 3) Restoration of nature and soil through solutions like agroforestry & biochar; 4) Women-centric solutions and delivery modelOur Impact
In the first 12 months since starting the first project, they have impacted 250,000 lives (provided water purifiers or improved cookstoves with an expected life of 10 years) and saved over 5mn hours p.a. of drudgery (mainly women). They are expected to reduce a million tons of CO2e emissions.Carbon Impact Capital is a Singapore-based social business venture focused on developing carbon reduction and removal projects that improve the lives of the most vulnerable communities immediately and directly.
They partner with several non-profits and social enterprises and enable delivery for social impact in the rural global south. The projects are designed for high capital efficiency and significant social impact and follow rigorous processes and independent verifications required by reputed international carbon registries to earn high-quality carbon credits.
Populations in Africa, Latin America, South Asia, and Southeast Asia in the global south are most vulnerable to climate change, affecting over 3.3 billion people.
Globally, 2.2 billion people do not have access to safe drinking water, 2.8 billion do not have access to solutions and clean cooking solutions, and 789 million do not have access to electricity. This leads to several health, socio-economic, and environmental issues, with women and children bearing most of the burden.
By focusing on the global south, CIC aims to improve the lives of vulnerable communities through climate action projects. Together with their partners, CIC is making a difference in developing countries in Asia and Africa.
