No Health Without Mental Health
The Mental Health Association in Taiwan is engaged in the 
promotion mental health for all, including mental health awareness, mental illness prevention and the development of treatment and intervention. It is also MHAT’s aim to make mental health a global priority among all people and nations. Founded in 1955, MHAT has cooperated with several government agencies in pursuit of improving mental health service provisions for different target populations. Furthermore, MHAT also has initiated mental health promotion models for different population.
Mental health literacy (MHliteraCy) Program
In 2017, MHAT began to promote mental health in schools. In order to meet the vision of building a “mental health promoting school ” the “MHliteracy Program” aimed to promote Mindfulness, Mind Balance and Mind matters by using bibliotherapy techniques and mental resilience related books. The program hopes to strengthen teachers’ mental health literacy and the capacity to develop teaching plans. MHAT’s goal is to build mental health resiliency among school children, as well as to enhance the mental health of both parents and children through reading and interaction. MHAT endeavors to reach more schools so that enrolled teachers, children, parents, will learn more about the importance of mental health and wellbeing.
