Our Mission
Inspired by the Indigenous Paiwan culture of Taiwan, Taitung Hunter School Foundation creates a community of sharing and respecting. The Foundation embodies inclusiveness of our island culture through educational programs and cultural actions.Our Impact

Founded in 2021 by the Indigenous Paiwan writer and hunter, Sakinu Ahronglong (b.1972), the Hunter School Education Foundation, previously known as the Hunter School Association (est. 2004), is a not-for-profit organization that embodies inclusiveness of our island culture of Taiwan. Growing on a diversified island that carries settler-colonial history, members of the Hunter School unite and become one family regardless of each one’s personal background. As a skilled hunter himself, Sakinu applies the hunter philosophy inherited from his hunter father to Hunter School’s educational programs and cultural actions, and leads a group of followers who value sharing, caring, responsibility, respectfulness, kindness, etc.
Vision
Within a generation, Hunter School will operate a prosperous alternative campus that best offers cultural-based education to learners across Taiwan who seek for the environmental education inspired by the Paiwan Indigenous hunter’s culture. Hunter School envisions a future where our learners will be grounded in the hunter’s values, and our society will value the culture and history of Indigenous peoples.
