The Kids’ Bookhouse, founded by the late Mr. Junlang Chen, believes every child deserves a bright future.
Over the last 20 years, nine “book houses” have been established in fourteen of Taitung’s remote tribal communities, offering safe harbors for more than 2,000 underprivileged children from families affected by hardships, such as poverty or domestic violence.
Other than the school work, students regularly participate in a wide variety of educational programs such as music, sports, baking, and agriculture to explore their interests and unique talent. Through companionship and a diverse curriculum, the BookHouse children rediscovered the confidence that will propel them to a life without fear and boundary.
