Our Mission

Develop women and girls into holistic leaders with integrity and passion to serve the world based on Christian values.

The Need

In Asian culture, people often have the stereotyped impressions that women are less capable than men. Women often receive less opportunities for career advancement. Gender equality is improving, but still has room for improvement.

The Solution

National YWCA and its 19 branches have served communities around Taiwan with a variety of programs to empower women and girls, including kindergartens, youth camps, leadership training, new immigrant service, counseling domestic violence victims, assisting low income families, and elderly care.

Our Impact

YWCA Taiwan's kindergarten and youth programs have emphasized character building and produced many young people with potential to become strong leaders. Its social service programs have empowered numerous women and elderly to face life’s challenges with enhanced ability, and self confidence.

YWCA of Taiwan is a full member of the World YWCA, one of the largest global women’s organization. It works with many YWCA’s around the world to exchange ideas and work together with a common goal to achieve justice, peace, health, human dignity, freedom, and a sustainable environment for all people.
