SITUATION REPORT: November 27

On 26 November 2025, a major fire that occurred at Wang Fuk Court, a public housing complex in Tai Po, has become one of the city’s deadliest residential disasters in decades. According to BBC the blaze swept through multiple buildings, resulting in at least 94 deaths, over 70 injuries, and hundreds reported missing. More than 900 residents have been displaced and are now relying on temporary shelters. As rescue work continues into day 3, one firefighter has been killed and 11 have been injured.

The Hong Kong government and local charities have launched emergency funds and donation drives to support affected families who are facing significant loss and long-term recovery needs.
