Our Mission

Dr. Tai-Hao Lu, the founder, was once a ruthless hitman for the United Bamboo Gang due to his complex family background. Dr. Lu started the "Rescue Burning Sticks" project, hoping to help children and youth from underprivileged backgrounds, guiding them toward a new path in life.

The Need

Many underprivileged children grow up in unstable and disordered environments, lacking sufficient food and proper education. This not only affects their health and development, but also their self-esteem and interpersonal relationships. They tend to grow up to re-live the cycle of poverty.

The Solution

Hoping to reach more underprivileged children and their families by connecting various resources and conducting in-depth visits. The aim is to provide them with greater support in their school and homes, like free after-school programs, while also alleviating their families’ financial burdens.

Our Impact

Every year, underprivileged children and their family members are assisted in Taiwan over 10,000 times, including approximately 4,000 children times (around 110 people), youths 1,700 times (around 60 people), family members 2,500 times (around 50 families), and around 180 new immigrants 2,000 times.
