OneSky partners with governments and communities in Asia to provide responsive care and safe learning environments so that marginalized young children can thrive.The Need
An estimated 58 million children in Asia do not have access to quality early care and education, along with safe learning environments. For children born into adverse circumstances or living in low-resourced communities, quality care is even more critical, yet even less likely to be available.The Solution
OneSky’s approach, inspired by Reggio Emilia’s principles, is to train adult caregivers to provide quality early care and education to children in marginalized communities. They partner with governments in China, Vietnam, Mongolia and Hong Kong to design, implement and take proven programs to scale.Our Impact
Since OneSky’s founding in 1998, OneSky has trained 75,400 caregivers to benefit the lives of more than 286,000 young children in low-resourced communities in Asia, ages 0-8, who have been orphaned, abandoned, left behind, or impacted by economic migration.To attain OneSky’s vision of a world where all young children have the opportunity to reach their full potential, they first partner with governments to directly implement their programs in order to demonstrate the power of their work. By doing that, they build evidence and showcase that OneSky’s approach truly transforms young lives. With that foundation, they can move forward to support governments in creating quality systems of care in all of the geographies where they currently work and beyond.
With consistent responsive care and loving attention, children born into even the most difficult circumstances can thrive and become changemakers in the world.
