Our Mission
U&I aims to be the change it wants to see in our communities by creating platforms for young people to step up, lead and be the change. It equips young people to invest in the lives of at-risk and disadvantaged children through impactful, high-quality education and mentorship.The Need
With India having the largest adolescent population in the world, they make up a third of our population and all of our future. Children are born into intergenerational poverty and it takes over seven generations to break this cycle. Presently 1 in every 3 children in India are caught in the cycle.The Solution
U&I provides academic support, life and career skills, maintaining a 1:1 teacher-student ratio to help each child pull themselves out of poverty. These skills including foundational literacy, communication skills, life skills, and career readiness, help build a stronger foundation for their future.Our Impact
Through its Teach initiative since 2011, U&I has impacted more than 11,000 students with the help of 15,000+ volunteers in 291 Learning Centres across India. It is proud to report a remarkable 33 percent growth in learning levels across all age groups, thanks to its proven approach.There are countless under-served children with boundless dreams and aspirations, who face multiple challenges. These children, just like us, have dreams of becoming engineers, lawyers, professors, bankers, bakers and so much more.
