NELLAI CANCER CARE CENTRE, A Project of Udhavum Ullangal Public charitable Trust will be setup as a 100 bed specialty cancer hospital providing affordable holistic cancer care to all close to their area of domicile. The vision is to provide every patient with cancer the opportunity to live a longer, healthier and fuller life. The hospital will provide an integrated multidisciplinary treatment for cancer incorporating a) evidence based clinical care supervised by a tumor board b) holistic integrated approach focused on the patients physical, psycho social and spiritual needs and c) advanced technology solutions and telemedicine to reduce overall cost and accelerating recovery rates.

Nellai Cancer Hospital will offer a cancer care value proposition that includes the complete value chain from awareness, screening, diagnosis, treatment and palliative care. Cancer awareness and screening programs have been operational since 2011. They have screened over 50 thousand people for oral, breast and cervical cancers. Referral cancer treatment services were commenced in 2016, followed by palliative care in 2018.

Nellai Cancer Hospital will be implemented in 2 phases. First a 30 bedded hospital will be setup and then a full fledged 100 bed hospital with state of the art facilities will be setup. The hospital will provide affordable holistic cancer care to everyone within 2 – 3 hours distance from their homes. Patients will receive high quality diagnosis and medical interventions in a timely manner without having to quit their jobs or being separated from their family and friends.

Extensive standard operating procedures will ensure transparency, governance and quality in line with the standardized protocols defined by national agencies such as NABH & NABL.

Holistic and complimentary therapies including Ayurveda, homeopathy, Sidha, Yoga etc will be extensively used under the strict supervision and recommendation of the tumor board.
