Barefoot College's mission is to empower rural communities and promote sustainable development through solutions in the areas of water, education, solar, women's empowerment, livelihoods, health, and the environment by fostering self-sufficiency and demystifying technology.The Need
Barefoot College focuses on addressing the needs and problems faced by rural communities, particularly in developing countries. These communities often lack access to basic amenities such as electricity, clean water, and healthcare, and are marginalized from mainstream society.The Solution
Barefoot College provides vocational training in areas such as solar engineering, water harvesting, and healthcare, allowing individuals to become self-sufficient and improve their quality of life. Programs also focus on promoting women's empowerment, education, and environmental sustainability.Our Impact
1. Water - Harvested over 70 billion liters 2. Solar - Trained 2000 semi-literate and illiterate women as Solar engineers bringing light to ~1 million people 3.
