Childcare Protection

Established in 1964, SOS Children’s Villages of India is a non-profit, voluntary child care organization. From the beginning, it has been involved in providing children in need of care and protection a home-like environment among brothers and sisters, through the Family Based Care (FBC) program. SOS India also reaches out to children at risk of falling out of the safety net of familial care through their Family Strengthening Program (FSP). FSP uses a two-pronged approach. One by empowering the caregivers, especially women, through the enhancement of their income and simultaneously, and the other by providing health and educational support to their children. It is the first childcare NGO to get a CRISIL accreditation for strong delivery capacity and high financial proficiency. In March 2016, SOS India was certified by TRACE, the world’s leading anti-bribery standard-setting organization, which demonstrates the commitment to commercial transparency.
