At RECOFTC, they believe in a future where people live equitably and sustainably in and beside healthy, resilient forests. The organization takes a long-term, landscape-based and inclusive approach to supporting local communities to secure their land and resource rights, stop deforestation, find alternative livelihoods and foster gender equity. RECOFTC is the only non-profit organization of its kind in Asia and the Pacific. It has more than 30 years of experience working with people and forests, and has built trusting relationships with partners at all levels. The influence and partnerships of RECOFTC extend from multilateral institutions to governments, private sector and local communities. RECOFTC’s innovations, knowledge and initiatives enable countries to foster good forest governance, mitigate and adapt to climate change, and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations 2030 Agenda.
Core values are the foundation of RECOFTC’s culture that guides all their work:
At RECOFTC, they help countries and communities achieve the Sustainable Development Goals for poverty, hunger, environment, climate change and gender. They are the trusted broker in the Asia-Pacific, bridging gaps among communities, countries and international organizations and alliances such as ASEAN. They build capacity of all and transform conflict into collaboration. Their entry point to sustainable development and climate change solutions is community forestry.
RECOFTC works throughout the Asia-Pacific. It has a main office in Bangkok and offices in seven countries: Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Nepal, Thailand and Viet Nam.Donate Now Learn More
