Relief Assistance to those Affected by Typhoon Nalgae/Paeng

Over 3 million people were affected and nearly 1 million displaced by Typhoon Paeng, which hit the Philippines last October 29,. BARMM was identified as the most affected region. The BARMM Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education’s latest situational report reported 1,241 schools in the region were affected by Typhoon Paeng with a total number of 477,288 learners affected. Meanwhile, the Department of Education also reported Region VI as one of the most affected region with 23 schools damaged and 46 totally damaged classrooms. The learning materials and teaching supplies at these schools were submerged in mud and water and deemed damaged.
PBSP is raising funds to assemble family packs and student and teacher kits for those affected by the typhoon in BARMM and Region VI.  Each family pack costs $26 each and contains the following items: Blankets, 10 kilos of rice, ½ kilo brown sugar, 50g coffee, 1 pack biscuits, 5 cans sardines, 5 cans corned beef, ½ kilo salt, 6L bottled water, and 1 pc bath soap. Student and Teacher kits cost $9.00 each which has a pencils, notebook, paper, and a raincoat for the student; and Manila paper, pen, and umbrella for the teacher.
