Our Mission

In conflict infested areas such as Somalia, Accept International aims to realize a world free of terrorism and conflict by supporting the rehabilitation of persons concerned and building pathways for their reintegration into society.

The Need

Terrorism and conflict claim the lives of more than 150,000 people a year around the world, and lead to problems such as the refugee crisis. Military efforts have been made globally to address such problems, but no solutions have been fruitful.

The Solution

The world needs less forcible methods and more peaceful methods. With their "accept" attitude, they strive for a world without terrorism. They stop the cycle of hatred by providing counseling, job training, and other reintegration support to those who leave the terrorist organizations.

Our Impact

To date, more than 1,500 young people in terrorist organizations were able to change their lives through their programs. According to One Young World, an international organization, Accept International generates a social impact of $32 for every dollar invested.

Since their establishment in 2011, Accept International has aimed for a world free of terrorism and conflict, and have been implementing projects in regions, subjects, and people that have been abandoned despite their extremely high needs.

They have made various efforts on the front lines of terrorism and conflict so that young people who are involved with terrorist organizations can break free from the chain of hatred and live just as a “young person.” Now, they are able to make an extremely large impact.

Accept International learned something while talking to so-called terrorists and the gangsters — most of them are young people just like us. And many of them are not originally people with radical ideas. They were just in circumstances that forced them to join armed groups, such as being brainwashed after being kidnapped, acting on hatred for friends being murdered, economic hardships, and anger at the government and the international community.

Young people are the cornerstone of creating the future. If so, they are young people who are ultimately left behind from everything, unable to return to society. If young people in terrorist organizations and armed organizations can get back on their feet to be part of society and create the future, what kind of world will it be?

On the basis of this, in September 2021, Accept International announced the “Declaration on the Rights of Youth Involved in Terrorism and Armed Conflicts.” In addition to working on rehabilitation projects, they are in the process of establishing this international norm that will clarify the rights of young people who are forced to bear arms for a variety of factors.

Accept International has been able to win prestigious awards including:

  • King Hamad Youth Empowerment Award to Achieve the SDGs: Peace Award Winner
  • Selected for the first time from Japan as one of the innovative solution to solve the global issues at the Peace Forum 2020
  • FESCO 55th Social Contribution Awards
