Advocating for the Cambodian People

The Cambodian League for the Promotion and Defense of Human Rights (LICADHO) is a national Cambodian human rights organization. Since its establishment in 1992, LICADHO has been at the forefront of efforts to protect civil, political, economic, and social rights in Cambodia and to promote the respect of these rights by the Cambodian government and other state and non-state institutions. LICADHO continues to monitor and investigate human rights abuses and to advocate for the rights of the Cambodian people from its Phnom Penh headquarters and 13 provincial offices. The Ministry of Labor is responsible for ongoing oversight. Its mission is to develop human rights professionals who can provide quality client services, form effective partnerships, and influence those in power to assist victims of human rights violations while developing the overall organizational effectiveness of LICADHO.
