DEAN Foundation

DEAN Foundation has a 26-year history of being the premier provider of Hospice and Palliative Care services in the community, free of charge to the economically weaker sections of society. They treat those with serious, life-threatening, chronic, progressive and incurable diseases with an emphasis on the elderly, the poor and the marginalized. Through their Outpatient and Home Care services they offer medical care, emotional and spiritual support, tailored to the patients' wishes to remain at home.

Since inception in 1998, our teams of doctors and nurses have reached out to 18,638 patients (Adults, Children & the Elderly) as on 29 February 2024 through 79,999 Outpatient Services and 70,176 Home Care visits; 14,647 have been Cancer patients. In our Paediatric Palliative Care Project, we have treated 3,667 children between the ages 0 to 12 years of whom 2,331 have been afflicted by Cancer. Currently, approx. 971 patients are under our care. About 85% of our patients are from very low socioeconomic backgrounds; unable to cope with the negative impacts of adverse health events, and 50% are geriatric patients
