Our Mission

CTC envisions healthy seas that enrich people and nature. They aim to achieve this by promoting the conservation and sustainable management of marine and coastal resources in the Coral Triangle through capacity building, field learning, and innovative outreach and public education programs.

The Need

CTC works to address the most critical threats to marine and coastal resources in the Coral Triangle such as degradation of marine habitats, unsustainable fishing, loss of endangered marine species, pollution, climate change, irresponsible tourism, and climate change.

The Solution

CTC works with stakeholders at all levels through onsite conservation programs, training, capacity building, outreach and education. They also lead learning networks of women leaders, local government, and marine protected area practitioners in the Coral Triangle region.

Our Impact

From 2010 to 2022, CTC has protected 387000+ hectares of critical marine habitat, trained 7000+ people to support marine protected areas and sustainable fisheries management, and 17000+ people have visited its Center for Marine Conservation, with many inspired to take action to protect our oceans.

Coral Triangle Center (CTC) is a foundation based in Indonesia with regional scope and global impact. Established in 2010, CTC works closely with local communities, private sector, governments, and partners to strengthen marine resource management in the Coral Triangle to protect coral reef ecosystems, ensure sustainable livelihoods and food security. We support on-the-ground conservation in Bali, Maluku, as well as in Timor-Leste. We lead learning networks of women leaders and marine protected area practitioners in Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, and Timor-Leste. We are developing our Center for Marine Conservation in Bali as an integrated learning space for training programs, outreach activities, interactive exhibits, and artistic and cultural performance to influence millions of people to care for our oceans and those who depend on it.
