The fourth wave of the COVID-19 pandemic has severely impacted Vietnam. As of September 2021, more than 660,000 cases and 16,000 deaths were confirmed.
Over the summer, mandated closures of non-essential businesses, restaurants, bans public gatherings, and severely limits transportation services affected many provinces of Vietnam, including main cities like Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh city. This has posed difficulties and hardship to many locals as they are not able to work to earn their living due to the shutdown. Social groups try to help with local needs such as providing food, food delivery, necessities support.
Give2Asia is partnering with trusted nonprofit organizations to support frontline health workers and institutions responding to the coronavirus pandemic.
