Support local NGO response efforts
Progress report: In July, Give2Asia published a report on the first 100 days of our response to the COVID-19 pandemic. You can read about it here.
Give2Asia is partnering with trusted nonprofit organizations to support frontline health workers and institutions responding to the coronavirus pandemic.
Give2Asia’s disaster response program funds both immediate needs and long-term recovery. Currently, our funding priorities in Bhutan include:
- Financial support for quarantine facilities and frontline healthcare workers: Everyday hundreds of Bhutanese returning from abroad arrive and everyone is put in mandatory quarantine for 21 days during which everything is provided for free of cost.
- Economic Stimulus: Small businesses are highly impacted, especially those in the travel and tourism sector with increasing unemployment and no cash flow.
- Medical Supplies: If Bhutan goes into Red Zone and number of infections increase, there will not be enough ventilators.
