SITUATION UPDATE: January 2022

The fight against COVID-19 has not yet ended, and the new Omicron variant is spreading rapidly in Bangladesh. Dhaka has the highest number of positive cases and is considered a ‘red zone’, while curbs have been implemented in various other cities.

80% of deaths caused by Coronavirus in Bangladesh were from unvaccinated communities. Unfortunately, only 35% of the population is fully vaccinated. The Government is working on vaccination and booster shots for its citizens to avoid more severe cases.
