COVID-19 Pandemic Response: Australia

Give2Asia is partnering with trusted nonprofit organizations responding to the COVID-19 pandemic. Donate online to support local relief efforts.

SITUATION UPDATE: January 2022

More than 35 deaths as reported due to the increasing number of Omicron variants transmitted in New South Wales, Queensland, and Victoria. Even with 94 percent vaccination rate, the Country is challenged with the fast-moving Omicron outbreak. Lockdown have been in place since mid-December 2021 in various cities in Australia. During the past three weeks, the number of infected, increasing simultaneously, and the thread of the new variant is actual. The government has announced tightening border security to anticipate the spread and respond to the new variant.

In 2020 and 2021, Give2Asia Donors has supported nine partners with approximately US$ 1.1 million in grantmaking to address Covid-19 crisis in Australia. Projects are focusing on food and livelihood support to those heavily impacted by the lockdown that have limited economic activities, especially for migrant and poor families. CURRENT NEEDS 

Give2Asia’s disaster response program funds both immediate needs and long-term recovery. Every donation counts towards supporting frontline workers as well as revitalizing the livelihood of local communities in this time of difficulty. Currently, our funding priorities are supporting vulnerable groups through education, food relief and support services.
