Religious Faith for the Poor

Caritas Manila is one of the largest church-based nonprofit organizations in the Philippines. Through their programs and services, they aim to concretize the love of God among the poor, the weak, and the vulnerable -the “least, last and lost” in society. Caritas Manila’s core programs are geared toward integral human, spiritual, and socio-economic development of the poor. Caritas Manila has always believed that meaningful assistance must be an empowering process. Most of their programs are designed to transform people from poverty and dependence to self-reliance with dignity.

THE SPIRIT OF CARITAS CHARITY

Caritas Manila, through its Spirit of Caritas Charity is calling you to help more than 8 million individuals who were added to the poor sector due to the pandemic. The project aims to provide food assistance to 3,000 indigent families (15,000 individuals) in 15 identified feeding centers in Metro Manila for 6 months. Food supply will be sourced from local farmers. Educational toys for 1,000 indigent children (6 months to 12 years old) will also be distributed. These individuals have experienced involuntary hunger due to the lack of food to eat at least once in three months. To address hunger, we present these donation packages for indigent families:

Where will your donations go?

1 Cavan of rice – US$41/ Php 2,000
Assorted fruits and vegetables – US$10/ Php 500
Educational toys – US$10/ Php 500

Children from these indigent families are also at risk of malnutrition. Currently, 30 % of children aged 5 and below suffer from this. Here are the donation packages to help prevent malnutrition of these children through Caritas’ program:
