The Center for Agriculture and Rural Development, Inc. (CARD, Inc.), a non-government microfinance and social development institution, that has been extending its hands to poverty-stricken communities in the Philippines since 1986. With its heart for Nanays – as Filipinos call their mothers, CARD, Inc. started as a social development organization that empowers women to become leaders by educating them in learning how to manage their family finances. Now, the institution envisions to shape a better future not just for women but for low-income families, especially those in the far-flung areas in the country.
With Filipino families in mind, they provide microfinance loans to over 2.0M households as well as a safety net through affordable microinsurance coverage to 10M individuals. CARD also continues to deliver financial assistance to micro, small, and medium enterprises and build healthy and educated communities by extending easy access to health facilities and services as well as affordable but quality education.
CARD also ensure that all their members are ready to face the challenges brought about by calamities by educating them in disaster preparedness through Credit with education and other relevant programs.
From the youngest to the oldest member of the family, each is given hope through the institution’s microcredit programs that aim to support children in their education, fund farmers in their agricultural production, and finance microentrepreneurs in their small businesses.
In response to the changing times and ever-developing trends in technology, CARD, Inc. embarks on a digital transformation initiative to optimize internal and external processes for both members and staff, increase efficiency as well as provide customer-centric products and services. Even with the digital journey, they still retain and embody their core values as these are instrumental in achieving the mission and realizing their vision of a poverty-free Philippines.
