Our Mission

The mission of AIT in the context of the emerging environment is “to develop highly qualified and committed professionals who will play a leading role in the sustainable development of the region and its integration into the global economy."

The Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) is founded in 1959, an international English-speaking postgraduate institution, providing engineering, environment, and management education and research focusing on Sustainability and Social Impact issues.  The current five thematic areas are: Climate Change, Smart Communities, Food-Energy-Water, Infrastructure, and Technology, Policy and Society.  AIT’s rigorous academic, research, and outreach programs prepare graduates for professional success and leadership roles in Asia and beyond.

Asian Institute of Technology (AIT)’s Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) program, under the School of Management (SOM), has been ranked #1 in Thailand and #21 in Asia in the latest QS Global MBA Rankings 2023, released on September 29. The program has also been ranked #10 in Asia and #71-80 in Career Specialization Rankings 2023: Entrepreneurship.

The Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings measure how universities worldwide are performing against the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). AIT obtained an overall rank of 201-300 out of 1,591 universities from 112 countries/regions.

The UN has 17 global sustainable development goals for 2030. In 2023, AIT participated in 13 out of the 17 SDGs and was ranked within 100 for SDG 1, SDG 2, and SDG 16.
