Our Mission

Aarohi envisions mountain communities which are educated, employable, financially sustainable, and healthy. Aarohi’s mission is to create better opportunities through quality healthcare and education, sustainable natural resource management and women empowerment.

The Need

(1) Rote learning leading to Poor learning levels in rural remote mountain areas (2) Lack of contemporary pedagogies in rural classrooms (3) Lack of trained facilitators/ teachers in creative teaching methodologies (4) Lack of contextualized teaching material for effective and lifelong learning

The Solution

(1) Offer various workshops on artful thinking directly to learners (2) Create contextualized learning material for rural children (3) Capacity Building Training program on creative teaching (4) Provide rural learners and teachers with exposure to various art forms

Our Impact

(1) Reached out to 108646 beneficiaries across 457 villages in the year 2022-23 (2) Recognized and awarded as one of the top 20 NGOs by Indian CSR Awards (3) Building collaborations with Public Departments (4) Building Partnerships with like-minded NGOs across India

With the belief that education is the catalyst for social transformation, Aarohi runs an Education Outreach Program aiming to improve the quality of education within the public education system. The work has a direct impact on the ground and also leads to shifts in educational discourse and practices.

The project includes forming a core team of promising local educators, planning and implementing a robust, structured capacity-building engagement for the team and government school teachers in language and mathematics. It involves introducing creative, art-based learning platforms to improve the quality of education available to children in intervention settings. It collaborates with District and Block Education Officers to identify intervention schools and centers, encouraging contextualized curriculum and activity-based learning and advocating for adequate resourcing of remote schools. The project offers specific opportunities to share the learning and experiences from the projects with a larger group of educators across the country.
