On Saturday April 16, 2011 artists from all over the world are coming together for a drawing marathon to raise funds for Japan disaster relief!!! Our Japanese brothers and friends need our help.
What is a SketchCrawl?
SketchCrawl is a grassroots event started more than six years ago by Enrico Casarosa. On given dates, four times a year, artists from all over the world form groups and go out in their city or town and draw for a whole day. At the end of the drawing marathon all sketches are shared on the SketchCrawl.com forums. SketchCrawl is about sharing a passion for capturing the details of our world around us with a pencil and paper, but it’s also about building a global community of Artists, a community with no borders.
We’ve put to use SketchCrawl in the past to raise funds for good causes. In 2007 SketchCrawl raised money for “Emergency” by an Italian NPO that offers healthcare to war and poverty victims around the world. Let’s come together again and help raise funds for Japan!
Just like a walkathon participants to the drawing marathon raise money by seeking the sponsorship of friends and colleagues. The funds donated will be added to the “Artists Help Japan -Earthquake and tsunami Emergency Fund” founded by Dice Tsutsumi, which is partnering with Give2Asia in donating money and resources to the relief effort in Japan.
Please make a contribution and help Japan today!
