Samsara Foundation supports the education of underprivileged rural children in Northern Thailand, regardless of religious or ethnic background. The Foundation believes that education is key to poverty alleviation and the development of a society. It focuses on children from remote mountain-villages in the provinces of Mae Hong Son and Mae Sariang, home to many hill people like the Karen or the Hmong. The Foundation provides over 100 scholarships to poor children for a period of 3 years, supports construction of dorms and canteens for students and teachers, clean water installation such as tanks for collecting rainwater. Through a special scholarship program called “Tomorrow’s Leaders”, the Foundation places ten best students in high school and ten in vocational training.
