Flooding in Pakistan: 2011

A year after the 2010 Pakistan floods displaced 11 million people and left about 2,000 dead, Sindh and Baluchistan provinces have once again been inundated by heavy rains. An estimated 8 million people have been affected by the recent flooding, according to the Pakistani government. Of these, 1.5 million have been displaced, more than 200 people have died and about 665,000 homes have been destroyed. Thousands of people in southern Sindh still recovering from last year’s wreckage, have been forced to flee from their homes yet again.

Give2Asia has launched a 2011 Pakistan Flood Relief Fund to help bring aid to local communities and organizations dealing with the disaster. Donations of any size will go directly to helping survivors.
