Widhya Asih Foundation
Founded in 1981, Widhya Asih IV Orphanage supports children who have not been able to go to school because they are orphaned, neglected, abused, or faced with poverty. The orphanage currently cares for 65 girls between the ages of 12 and 23. Learn more.
Women Association Struggle for Development (WASFD)
Women Association Struggle for Development (WASFD) was established in December 1998 by a group of women volunteers and philanthropists in the Swabi district of NWFP Province of Pakistan. Its mission is to build a just society where the poor, especially women and children, enjoy their full rights with easy access to social, economic and political development. Women Environment Preservation Committee (WEPCO)
Since 1992, the Women Environment Preservation Committee Organization (WEPCO) has been dedicated to cleaning and conserving the urban environment in Kathmandu Valley. During this time, WEPCO has encouraged a new generation of women and students to learn more about environmental issues and play an active role in improving their local environment.
WEPCO is especially known for innovation and initiative in Solid Waste Management. It has disseminated many new ideas such as waste segregation, community composting, home composting, paper recycling and biogas production from organic waste.
