Afghan Institute of Learning (AIL) was founded as a nonprofit in 1995 by Professor Sakena Yacoobi to assist Afghan women and children. AIL believes that educated people are the key to Afghanistan’s future. With that in mind, AIL works to empower all Afghans by expanding opportunities for education and health by fostering self-reliance and community participation. AIL intends to continue growing its presence in Afghanistan and organizing grassroots efforts towards reconstruction and development.
