Vivien F. Hu is the Executive Director of National Securities and Finance Group Foundation in Taipei, Taiwan. NSFG Foundation was established in 1996 by Vivien’s father-in-law, Dr. Richard M. Hong, with the mission of uplifting cultural and artistic standards in Taiwan by supporting performing arts projects and critique. The philanthropic engagement is part of a Hong tradition, as the family founded one of the Taiwan’s earliest corporate foundations, Hong’s Foundation for Education and Culture, in 1971.
Ms. Hu has participated in the foundation’s international networking efforts, including The Philanthropy Workshop (TPW) organized by the Rockefeller Foundation in US, and the founding of Taiwan chapter of the Consortium of Asian Foundations and Organizations (CAFO), of which she served as Executive Committee member.
Ms. Hu obtained her BA from National Taiwan University, and MA from Michigan State University with a major in Mass Communication. She was a television journalist and news anchor in Los Angeles and Taiwan before entering the NPO field in 2000.
