In its first 11 years Give2Asia has facilitated more than $175 million in grants to organizations and causes throughout Asia. The Programs Unit is responsible for managing donor relationships and accounts, conducting efficient and effective grantmaking to organizations in Asia, developing new programs in collaboration with donors and grantees, and generating program related informational and educational communication.
~ SUMMARY OF INTERNSHIP ~
Give2Asia is seeking an intern to work with the Programs Unit. Interns will work with members of the Programs Unit on their program development and grant making goals. Specific duties may include ▪ helping to prepare new proposals, custom programs, and donor reports; ▪ assisting with donor correspondence; ▪ conducting program research; ▪ blogging about interesting reports and events on Give2Asia forum; ▪ assisting in event planning and preparation; ▪ researching and writing informational and educational materials; ▪ and some office management tasks as needed. Specific tasks will be based on qualifications and demonstrated proficiency. In order to encourage the intern’s understanding of working cross-functionally, the intern will also be required to work with Finance, Marketing, Communications and Development on specific tasks as needed.
Allowance for food and transportation will be available. This is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to an international not-for-profit working in the field of international philanthropy. Candidates must be available for a minimum of 30 hours per week for at least 3 months – longer engagements are possible based on performance. The Programs Internship is a year-round program with a cycle of 3 to 4 months. We are currently seeking applications for the 3- to 4-month internship program, to start on July 1, 2013. Interviews will begin in May and June 2013.
~ QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE ~
Relevant work experience and interest in international philanthropy and/or Asian affairs; strong research, writing, and editing skills; computer and internet proficiency; excellent interpersonal skills; and a desire to learn. Working knowledge of an Asian language is preferred, but not required.
