The Deshpande Foundation Launches New Master of Social Entrepreneurship in Karnataka

This month, the Deshpande Foundation announces the launch of its new Master of Social Entrepreneurship program affiliated with Karnataka University. The two-year program is a 25-course package that blends cutting-edge practical experience with personal mentorship from real entrepreneurs. Graduates in any field who are looking to create or manage social enterprises are welcome to apply.

The new program is a result of a $5 million endowment grant made by Give2Asia and the Deshpande Foundation to the Deshpande Foundation India for general operations and planning.

The Master of Social Entrepreneurship program will be hosted by the Deshpande Center for Social Entrepreneurship (DCSE) in Karnataka, India. DCSE has been a breeding ground for start-ups, an international network of enterprises, and partnerships with over 100 for-profit nad non-profit organizations who engage in solving social issues with an entrepreneurial mind set. Students of the Masters of Social Entrepreneurship at DCSE have the added possibility of qualifying students in DCSE’s Entrepreneur in Residence program, which incubates social enterprises as they develop from ideas to impact.
