Give2Asia Launches Initiative to Help in Philippines Following Typhoon Nesat, Which Affected 680,000

On Tuesday, September 27, 2011, Typhoon Nesat struck the Philippines, inundating the capital of Manila and leaving surrounding communities stranded in waist-deep swamps. The overwhelming typhoon has resulted in the death of 39 people and left 31 people missing. Hundreds of thousands were forced to evacuate or were left stranded on top of their homes. Close to 680,000 people have been affected by Typhoon Nesat and relief efforts are being made to clean up the damage and begin rebuilding.

In response to this recent disaster, Give2Asia has launched a Philippines Typhoon Nesat Fund 2011 to aid in relief and recovery efforts.
